Knights Women's Soccer Remains Undefeated with 2-0 Win over Sheridan

September 27th, 2021...Welland- The Niagara Knights women's soccer team continued their unbeaten streak on Saturday with a 2-0 win over the Sheridan Bruins. Saturday's match marked the first time the blue and white have played at home since October of 2019.

The win puts the Knights at the top of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) South division with a 3-0 record.

Sierra Naccarato recorded her second shut-out of the season, while captains Sydney Sica and Terin Hultink each contributed one in the 2-0 victory.

Hultink currently sits second in scoring (4) and overall points (8) in the OCAA, while Naccarato sits in second with goals against (1).

Head coach Rob Lalama was pleased to see his teams hard work in practice pay off in the win.

"We had a solid performance today," said Lalama. "This team works so hard in practice and that is translating into improving play in matches."

The Knights will return home Wednesday for a rematch with the Mohawk Mountaineers at 6:00 pm. The Knights defeated Mohawk 4-1 back on Tuesday Sept 21 and will look to continue their winning momentum heading into Wednesday's home game.
