LANCERS CAN'T STOP PANTHERS

LANCERS CAN'T STOP PANTHERS

The Lancers lost their second straight game in three sets when they faced off against the Canadore Panthers Saturday in North Bay.

Trying to bounce back after a hard fought loss against the Grizzlies the day before, the Lancers did a good job of minimizing unforced errors but struggled offensively. Only committing 8 errors in the game compared to the Panthers 26, the Lancers were unable to capitalize on scoring opporunities as they were presented.

After losing the first set 25-21, the Lancers fell behind early in the second and couldn't regain themselves and suffered a 25-12 loss.

Despite great defensive efforts from second year setter Lorraine Spellman, the Lancers were unable to stop the Panthers attacks and dropped the third set 25-20.

Alicia Orsborne, a third year outside hitter, lead the Lancers in scoring with 9 of the team's 24 kills while Spellman recorded the lone ace for the team.

The Lancers get back in action in Thursday November 1st when they travel to Oshawa to take on the Durham Lords (2-0).
