Wolves Women's Volleyball off to 2-1 Start to 22-23 Season

The Wolves women's volleyball team currently sits in the middle of the pack of the OCAA East after a 2-1 start to the season. 

 

Friday October 21st @ Durham 

Algonquin kicked off the season in Oshawa against the 2022 OCAA Bronze medalists the Durham Lords.  The Wolves would eventually fall to the Lords in 3 sets.  2nd year Sophmore Maddy Nadeau had a strong game for Algonquin registering 7 kills and 1 ace.  

Saturday October 22nd @ Loyalist 

The Wolves shook off the loss from the night before and earned a 3 set to 1 win over the Loyalist Lancers in Belleville.  5th year senior Kristina Renwick had a monster game for the Wolves with 17 kills, 2 aces and 2 blocks.  Maddy Nadeau had another solid game with 10 kills and 1 ace, and 2nd year sophmore Faith Billaney had an impressive performance with 7 kills and 3 aces. 

Saturday October 29th @ La Cité

After a 1-1 start to the season, the Wolves took the trip accross town to take on the La Cité Coyotes.  Algonquin would take this one in 3 sets to improve their record to 2-1 on the year.  Faith Billaney had another big performance for the Wolves finishng with 11 kills, 2 aces and 1 block.  

 

The team will hit the road this weekend to take on the Seneca Sting on Friday November 4th and the Georgian Grizzlies on Saturday November 5th.  After playing their 1st 5 games on the road, the team will finally be back at the ARC on November 11th and 12th to take on the Durham Lords and George Brown Huskies.
