OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College men's rugby team will have an opportunity to go back-to-back as OCAA champions after booking their ticket to the provincial final for the second consecutive year following a decisive 45-12 semifinal victory over the Seneca Sting on Saturday afternoon at Thompson Rugby Park.
The Lords were quick out of the gate, jumping out to a 31-0 lead at the halftime break.
Dominating possession throughout the entirety, three separate DC players recorded 10 point matches in the win as
Jordon Henry (Whitby, Ont.) and
Hayden Parkins (Oshawa, Ont.) each found the try zone twice, while in his return to the lineup second-year wing
Eddie Oliveira (Oshawa, Ont.) kicked five converts.
Also adding their name to the scoresheet in the victory were
Daniel Cooper (Uxbridge, Ont.),
Devon Parson (Caesarea, Ont.), and 2019 OCAA scoring champion
Ty Jacob (Courtice, Ont.) who each recorded a single marker.
The Lords will face-off with the winner of the other provincial semifinal between Humber and Georgian schedule for tomorrow. A date, time, and location for the championship will follow with the event scheduled for either Nov. 9 or 10.
