LONDON, Ont. - Nathan McFadden, Manager of Athletics at Fanshawe College, announced today that Jeff Millar has been selected as the new head coach to lead the Fanshawe Falcons women's volleyball program while Steve Ruddach was selected as head coach for the badminton program.

Millar brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Fanshawe women's volleyball program. He most recently was the Fanshawe Men's volleyball assistant coach from 2017 to 2019, where he won two OCAA championships, one CCAA silver medal and a gold medal as part of last season's national championship squad. Millar was also an associate coach with the Fanshawe women's volleyball program in 2017-18. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, Nipissing University, as an assistant from 2011 to 2016.

Ruddach is an alumni of Fanshawe, graduating from the Computer Systems Technician program in 2009. During his time at Fanshawe, he was a member of the Badminton team for three seasons. Ruddach has served as the assistant coach of the Fanshawe badminton team since 2016 and has helped Falcons student-athletes reach the national podium in each of the past two seasons. He also served as the head badminton coach at Saunders Secondary School last season.

"We are very excited about the additions of Jeff and Steve to our head coaching staff," said McFadden. "They are both strong character people and understand the expectations and demands that are necessary to be successful in academics and athletics. They both bring national championship experience as coaches to their respective programs and have earned this opportunity. Their passion for the Fanshawe Falcons and our student-athletes is clearly evident and they will be terrific additions to our staff."
