Lords and Sting record highest scoring game in OCAA history

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham Lords dropped both games in a Saturday afternoon doubleheader versus the visiting Seneca Sting, including what is now the highest scoring game in OCAA history.

After dropping Game 1 by a score of 9-8 to the Sting, the two teams combined for an offence driven Game 2 which saw Seneca come out on top 18-17. The 35 combined runs broke the record for single game scoring in the OCAA, demolishing the previous mark of 27 which was set during the first year of the shift to OCAA league play on September 28, 2013 by the Humber Hawks and George Brown Huskies. In addition to the scoring mark, another incredible stat of note was that their were a combined 13 pitchers used in the Game 2 duel.

Durham will look for the offence to continue and the defence to improve tomorrow afternoon when they welcome the George Brown Huskies to Kinsmen Stadium for a single contest. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
