OSHAWA, Ont. - Seneca College's Cooper Lamb (Toronto) is the 2019 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Men's Baseball Player of the Year. He received the award in a ceremony held in Oshawa, Ont., on Thursday evening.

The second-year shortstop led all OCAA players with 26 hits (including 10 doubles) and 20 runs. Lamb contributed a slash line of .382/.419/.632 over 18 games, getting a least one hit in 16 of those contests, helping lead Seneca to its first-ever OCAA championship berth. Lamb is also an OCAA All-Star.

Sam Lebel (Brampton) of OCAA regular season champion Humber is the OCAA Rookie of the Year. The shortstop was fourth among OCAA players with 23 hits, scoring 17 times while driving in 10 RBI with a .354 batting average. Lebel is also an OCAA All-Star.

Durham's Jason Crouse (Oshawa, Ont.) is the OCAA Pitcher of the Year. The second-year hurler led the OCAA with five wins, sporting a stellar ERA of 1.89, good for third among all players. He struck out 22 while walking only 13 in 29 2/3 innings of work. Crouse is also an OCAA All-Star.

Crouse's teammate, Fernando Suarez (Whitby, Ont.), is the OCAA Batting Champion. The first-year infielder batted .455 in 55 plate appearances, striking out only six times. Of his 25 hits, a dozen were doubles. He also had an on base percentage of .500, and a slugging percentage of .673. Suarez is also an OCAA All-Star.

St. Clair's Dave Cooper is the OCAA Coach of the Year. The Saints shared the top record in regular season play at 13-5, allowing a league-low 43 runs against.

Also named OCAA All-Stars were Durham's Sam Cawker (Courtice, Ont.), Riley Gray (Caledonia, Ont.) and Griffin Oliver (Oshawa, Ont.); Humber's Liam Sutherland (Mississauga, Ont.); and St. Clair's Luis Barrios (Colombia), Michael McKay (Miramichi , N.B.) and Brendan Renaud (Amherstburg, Ont.).
