MCLEAN SETS NEW OCAA WOMEN'S SOFTBALL RBI RECORD

LONDON, Ont. - On Sunday afternoon in Windsor, Fanshawe Falcons shortstop Jenna McLean (Watford, Ont.) set a new Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) women's softball record for most RBIs in a single game with eight.

In the Falcons’ 15-3 victory over Lambton, the second-year nursing student went four for four, with three runs, two doubles and topped it off with a three-run walk off home run.

The previous record of seven was originally set by Kayla Gammie (Durham, 2014), and tied by Sarah Seirfried (Durham, 2016) and Hayley Pearce (St. Clair, 2017).

The Falcons opened their season 3-0, with 8-3 and 13-1 home wins over Seneca and Sheridan on Saturday. Fanshawe Athletics will also be hosting the OCAA provincial softball championship at Alumni Field from October 20-22.
