FANSHAWE'S LOWRY SETS NEW OCAA SOFTBALL SINGLE SEASON STRIKEOUT RECORD

LONDON, Ont. - In Fanshawe's 13-1 and 7-1 doubleheader victories over Conestoga on Wednesday evening in Kitchener, Falcons pitcher Morgan Lowry (Middlesex-Centre) set a new women's softball record for the most strikeouts in a season.

The third-year Fanshawe Falcons ace struck out 25 Condors to bring her season total to 128 strikeouts with four regular season games still remaining. The previous record of 119 was originally set in 1999 by Seneca's Debbie Wadsworth. Lowry also holds the Fanshawe all-time strikeout record, with her career total currently at 298 strikeouts.

The Falcons four remaining regular season games will be a doubleheader at Humber on Saturday, Oct. 15 and then at home on Sunday, Oct. 16 versus Mohawk. Fanshawe will also be hosting the OCAA Women's Softball Championship at Alumni Field from Oct. 20-22.
