OCR Student Leadership Award – Lucas Chiarot – Lakehead Orillia

Touted as an "extremely organized, independent, motivated, and punctual" student, this year's recipient has been an integral member in the Athletics and Wellness Department at Lakehead Orillia. During his time at Lakehead, this student leader has held many integral roles within student leadership – aside from being a valuable member of the Atheltics and Wellness department, he was also on the executive council for the Lakehead University Alumni Association, an assistant captain on the extramural hockey team, a varsity golf athlete, as well as a Lakehead representative at the "NIRSA – Leaders in Campus Recreation Conference" this past fall. In addition, the recipient was also nominated for Lakehead's prestigious leadership award. This student has been an individual that his peers can always look up to and depend on and has truly established himself as an exemplary leader. OCR Student Leadership Award – Mélodie Dubuc – Collège Boréal

This recipient has been described as a "mentor and role model for many students". She has been a key factor in getting students engaged in different sport and recreation teams, student association activities, volunteering in the community, as well as college and residence life activities. Her personal moto of "leadership is not about being the best, it is about making everyone else better" has made her a driving force at Collège Boréal and a true ambassador for all things campus life. Her nominator says she will undoubtedly have a huge impact in her workplace and continue to be an outstanding community leader for years to come.
