OCAA REPLAY: 2020 OCAA MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

OCAA REPLAY: 2020 OCAA MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

With varsity sports and recreation activities currently on hiatus due to the global pandemic, the OCAA will shine a spotlight on memorable games from the previous 2019-20 season.

Our feature Game of the Week is the gold medal game of the 2020 OCAA Men's Basketball Championship between the Humber Hawks and George Brown Huskies which took place Mar. 8, 2020.

Both teams won their respective divisional championships during a tightly contested regular season. The Huskies returned to their first gold medal game in three seasons following a narrow three-point victory over Redeemer in the semi-finals. For the Hawks, they secured a third-straight trip to the OCAA finale courtesy of a five-point win over Seneca. Humber looked to end their bridesmaid curse, having not hoisted the OCAA trophy since 2016.

Both sides featured a couple of fifth-year forwards who were named OCAA First-Team All-Stars during the regular season. George Brown's Kingslee D'Silva averaged nearly 15 points a game shooting 50.4 per cent from the field while Humber's Jaylan Morgan posted similar numbers averaging 18.8 points on 51.5 per cent shooting.
