OCAA REPLAY: 2019 OCAA WOMEN'S RUGBY SEVENS CHAMPIONSHIP

With varsity sports and recreation activities currently on hiatus due to the global pandemic, the OCAA will shine a spotlight on memorable games from the previous 2019-20 season.

Our feature Game of the Week is the gold medal game of the 2019 OCAA Women's Rugby Sevens Championship between the Durham Lords and Algonquin Thunder which took place Nov. 2, 2019.

The Thunder advanced to their second straight OCAA championship finale after falling short of the gold medal in 2018. Algonquin become the first team to advance to the final having to win both a quarter-final and semi-final match. The upstart Lords advanced to the finale in only their second year of OCAA participation, having won the East Division title with a regular season record of 10-2, one game better than Algonquin.
