Kayah Clarke

It was a big week for the former Windsor Lancer as Clarke led the Humber Hawks to two victories. In wins over Mohawk and Fanshawe, Clarke combined to score 36 points on 46.4 per cent (13-for-28) shooting from the floor. In a 77-48 win over Mohawk on Nov. 2, the fifth-year guard recorded a season-high 22 points. Three days later, Clarke narrowly missed a double-double on the road at Fanshawe, finishing with 14 points and nine rebounds. Defending OCAA champion Humber has won three straight to open the 2022-23 regular season campaign.

The second-year player recorded 14 kills, three service aces and 16 digs in a four-set victory over the Algonquin Wolves on Nov. 4 and another 17 kills to go along with four aces and 36 digs in a three-set sweep over the Coyotes of La Cité on Nov. 5. Davina totalled 38 points in the two matches. Davina gained international experience representing Cameroon at the World Volleyball Championship in September.

Daniel Graham
School: Mohawk
Program: Chemical Engineering Technology
Year of Eligibility: 3

Hometown: Hamilton, Ont.
The Mountaineers have began the season with four straight wins, including two this past week. Mohawk first defeated defending national champion Humber 83-80 on the road on Nov. 2, with Graham scoring 12 points and adding six assists. On Nov. 5 in a 108-88 victory over Redeemer, the third-year guard scored a career-high 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting and knocked down six threes. Graham's speed, playmaking ability and unselfishness doesn't show up in the box score but have been major factors to the Mountaineers success so far this season.

Alyssa Lucier
School: St. Clair
Program: Paralegal
Year of Eligibility: 2
Sport: Women's Basketball
Hometown: Wallaceburg, Ont.
In St. Clair's important early season 80-64 win over the Niagara Knights on Nov. 5, Lucier set the offensive pace early scoring 13 points in the first quarter and continued a hot hand in the second on the way to 22 first-half points. The second-year guard finished with a game-high 29 points, adding seven rebounds and four assists and was 7-of-8 at the free throw line. The St. Clair Saints are now 1-1 on the season, with Lucier averaging 20 points per game, fifth among the OCAA leaders. St. Clair's season continues this Sunday at home against Mohawk.

Patrick Lynch
School: Durham
Program: Electronics Engineering Technology
Year of Eligibility: 4
Sport: Men's Rugby
Hometown: Oshawa, Ont.
Lynch was named Championship MVP as the Durham Lords won their third OCAA men's rugby championship in four seasons. The fourth-year prop/hooker was a key factor in Durham's 31-17 victory over the Georgian Grizzlies on Nov. 5. Durham jumped out to a 28-3 advantage and never looked back, completing a perfect 6-0 season and taking the gold medal. Along with the Championship MVP award, Lynch was also honoured post-match as an OCAA League All-Star and has been a member of the Lords for all three of their championship teams.

Ladera Ujullu Obang
School: Conestoga
Program: General Arts & Science
Year of Eligibility: 1
Sport: Men's Basketball
Hometown: Kitchener, Ont.
Ujullu Obang brought the entire playbook to the north in Conestoga's 98-70 victory over the pesky Canadore Panthers squad on Nov. 5. The first-year guard was a pair of rebounds and two assists shy of a triple-double. Ujullu Obang finished with 22 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the floor while adding eight rebounds and eight assists. Ujullu Obang's play on the offensive side of the ball has been a true catalyst to the competitiveness of the Condors as they look ahead to Tuesday's showdown against the undefeated Sheridan Bruins.
