A single-division format will remain for 2022 with teams playing a modified round robin format totalling four regular season games each.

The season kicks off with a lone match on Sept. 16 when the Humber Hawks (Etobicoke) visit the Georgian Grizzlies (Barrie). The Grizzlies are hungry for a provincial championship having coming up short in the OCAA gold medal match three straight seasons. Georgian currently has the longest OCAA medal streak at six seasons.

The following day, the reigning OCAA champion St. Lawrence Surge (Kingston) visit the former OCAA champion Durham Lords (Oshawa), the 2021 bronze medalists. On Sept. 18, the Algonquin Wolves (Oshawa) make their return to OCAA play after sitting out the 2021 season when they host the Sheridan Bruins (Oakville). The Seneca Sting (North York) who were also idle last season will wait an extra week for their 2022 debut on Sept. 25 at home against Georgian.

St. Lawrence will host its first match as defending champion against Algonquin on Sept. 24. A rematch of the 2021 OCAA gold medal match will take place on Oct. 15 as Georgian hosts St. Lawrence. The Surge declawed the Grizzlies 13-7 in a thrilling battle last November.

A total of 14 matches will be played over a span of 30 days. The top six teams at the conclusion of the regular season advance to the post-season, with the top two seeds earning a bye into the semi-finals.

The remaining four teams will play in the OCAA quarter-finals. The top two seeds will then host the quarter-final winners in the semi-finals, with the winners advancing to the OCAA gold medal match. The losing teams will play in the OCAA bronze medal match. The higher seed in each post-season game will be the host.

All OCAA schedules for the 2022-23 season, including dates, times and locations, are subject to change.
