The majority of the schedule will feature doubleheaders alternating between men's and women's competition. Schools will play a condensed schedule as the leagues have been divided into four (4) regional pools instead of the traditional East-West format.

All teams will play a double-round robin within its division. Men's teams will play four additional interdivisional match-ups for a total of twelve (12) regular season games. West will play South teams in interdivisional play, while Central will face East clubs. For the women, West and South teams will play a single round robin against each other, while Central and East teams will play each other one time. Women's teams will play between ten (10) and twelve (12) regular season games each.

Opening night begins where things left off nearly two years prior with a rematch of the 2020 OCAA women's gold medal game. The two-time reigning champion Fanshawe Falcons (London) host the two-time runner-up St. Clair Saints (Windsor) with both teams looking to get a leg up in 2022. It's one of six women's games on Friday, Jan. 7.

The defending men's champion George Brown Huskies (Toronto) are also in action opening night tipping off their season at home against cross-town rival Centennial Colts (Scarborough). It is one of eight men's games that evening, which includes the newly-branded Algonquin Wolves hosting the La Cité Coyotes in the Battle of Ottawa.

Always a must see event when these two schools get together, the Humber Hawks (Etobicoke) and Sheridan Bruins (Brampton) renew rivalries twice in a span of eight days. Humber plays host on Thursday, Feb. 10, while Sheridan gets its turn on Friday, Feb. 18 in the regular season finale for all teams involved.

The top four (4) men's teams in each division will advance to the post-season. To create first-round match-ups between teams that haven't competed against each other in the regular season, West will play Central teams, while South will play East teams with the top seeds hosting the fourth place teams from the opposite division, while the third seed visits the second.

The top three (3) women's teams in each division will advance to the playoffs, with division winners getting an automatic bye to the OCAA championship. Second-place teams will host third-place squads in the opening round in a similar format to the men, with West teams playing Central opponents, and South squads competing against the East.

The quarter-finals, semi-finals and OCAA medal matches for both men and women will be played at designated championship sites from Mar. 3-5. Hosts of the men's and women's championships will be named at a later date.

All OCAA schedules for the 2021-22 season, including dates, times and locations, are subject to change.
