The first set got off to an electric start as the St.Clair Saints took an early lead 6-3, but after an effective time out called by Algonquin, the game was tied at 11-11. St. Clair capitalized on some errors for the Thunder late in the set to roll a 1st set victory 25-15.
The 2nd set was highlighted by elite defense by both squads, but St.Clair had some timely digs and blocks early on that swung the momentum in their favour.once again.
The Saints carried their momentum through the rest of set #2 and 3 by scores of 25-12, and 25-11 respectively. The Saints offense was carried by Horst who had 9 kills, but was made possible by the fantastic offense that Saints setter Kimberly Quintanilla ran throughout the entire match (36 assists). Several Thunder had digs in the match to a total of 31 in 3 sets in a supreme defensive effort.
