FANSHAWE ATHLETICS NAMES STEVENSON NEW CROSS COUNTRY HEAD COACH

LONDON, Ont. - Fanshawe Director of Athletics and Recreation, Nathan McFadden, announced today that John Stevenson has been selected as the new Head Coach to lead the Fanshawe Falcons Women's and Men's Cross Country program.

Stevenson is a Chartered Performance coach with OCAA experience, as he was the Head Coach for the Centennial College Colts Cross Country program for the past five years. His experience also includes working with the London-Western Track and Field Club since 2008 as an endurance coach, a board member and the Vice-President. Stevenson is currently the Head Coach of Team Canada Open Athletics for the 2022 Maccabi games and is a Mentor Coach Developer, Learning Facilitator and Evaluator for Athletics Ontario.

Head Coach, Stevenson expressed, "I am thrilled to have been selected to be the Head Coach for Fanshawe Cross Country. I value the program that my coaching predecessors established and I look forward to working with and supporting Fanshawe's student-athletes. I hope to further build and solidify a Cross Country program that is focused on building Champions - both in the classroom and on the trails."

Fanshawe's McFadden stated, "We are excited to have John join our nationally recognized Falcons cross country program. He brings a wealth of high performance and overall coaching experience with him from the renowned London-Western Track & Field Club that will greatly benefit our student-athletes. Having been a head coach for five years in the OCAA, he also understands the holistic approach that is important for our student-athlete development."
