Marcaccio made his triumphant return to the OCAA racing circuit, winning the Fanshawe Invitational on Oct. 2 in an eight kilometre time of 25:43, just under a minute better than his closest rival and teammate Sandy Freeland (Kitchener). With the top two finishers, Fanshawe was the top men's team on its home course. Marcaccio is a three-time OCAA medalist, winning both the provincial and national championships in 2016. He was named the 2016-17 OCAA Male Athlete of the Year for his efforts. The OCAA Cross Country Championships take place Oct. 30 hosted by Humber.
