Blackney of the Fleming Knights finished in second place out of 43 runners in her OCAA debut at the Centennial Cross Country Invitational on Oct. 16. She ran a six kilometre time of 25:10.5, a pace of 4:12 per kilometre. Blackney will now set her sights on the upcoming OCAA Cross Country Championships, taking place at Albion Hills Conservation Park in Caledon, Ont., on Oct. 30. Incidentally, Fleming has not had a women's individual runner place on the OCAA championship podium since Hollie Gordon earned a silver medal in 2006.
