It has been a season of no-hitters, with Oates now getting in on the act. The first-year right-hander went a complete-game five innings, allowing one run on two walks while striking out three in Centennial's 19-1 victory over Lambton on Sept. 24. Oates is the third OCAA pitcher to hurl a no-hitter this season, joining Humber's Aidan Murphy and St. Clair's Brock Whitson. Oates is among the leaders with a 3-0 record, 18 innings pitched, a 1.17 ERA and 14 strikeouts. The Colts have a 7-3 record, Centennial's best record in two seasons on the OCAA baseball circuit.
