Chong began the weekend with 18 points on 53.8 per cent (7-of-13) shooting versus the Lambton Lions on Jan. 19. That performance included five rebounds and two steals in a 91-84 overtime loss. But it was what Chong did against the St. Clair Saints the following day that stood out. The first-year guard scored 48 points, an OCAA single-game best this season. Chong shot 56.0 per cent (14-of-25) from the field and knocked down 11 threes. Twenty of Chong's 48 points were scored in the fourth quarter, as well as five threes in a 111-96 defeat.
