Laura Monk joined the Fleming Knights in 1998-99 coming from one of the top club programs in the country and immediately made her mark at the college level.

In her first season, Monk led the league in service aces with 37 on the year. Laura went on to set OCAA records for most kills in a single match, downing 28, and most points in a match with 30. She was named an East region all-star and team MVP as well as Fleming's female athlete of the year.

Monk completed her program at Fleming and moved on to Sheridan College where she was again named a league all-star for the Central region and a tournament all-star in the Centennial College Challenge.

Still an active member of the Fleming athletic alumni, Monk is a regular participant in their annual alumni games.
