Lancers knock down the Colts on the way to playoffs:

The Lancer secured a top fourth regular season finish with a 53-45 victory over the Centennial Colts in Scarborough on Friday night.

After getting off to a slow start offensively, Kate Maxwell sparked a fire with a forced turnover that Jessyka Maliksi converted to give the Lancers their first 3-point lead of the game.
Showing offensive improvements in the second half, the Lancers maintained control throughout the third quarter before running away with the game in the fourth.
Veteran Lancer Cianah Miller led her team in scoring with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals while teammate Mona Knights added 10 buckets and 4 rebounds. Rachel Givens came off the bench and helped jump-start the Lancers offense with 9 points, 6 boards and 2 assists in the win.

Even though the game didn't follow the game plan to a tee, Head Coach Caleb Hugh is pleased with how they came together for the win. "We focus on attitudes a lot and tonight was a great opportunity to show our team-first attitude" he says. "We were down two players and the rest of the team stepped up and found a way to win. We focused on the team and demonstrated strong attitudes all around".

The Lancers finish the season with an 8-6 record and secured a home court playoff for the first time in recent history. Playoffs are set to take place on Saturday February 25th with their opponent to be determined once all league games are completed.
