No. 11-ranked Mohawk Mountaineers men's volleyball finished their regular season with a 3-0 win (25-13, 25-17, 25-8) over the Boréal Vipères.

Before the match, the team celebrated graduating athletes Brayden Griffith (Winnipeg, MB), Andrew Kong (Burlington, ON), Michael Kong (Burlington, ON) and Nathan Snippe (St. Ann's, ON).

Mohawk, similar to the rest of the OCAA, played a condensed nine game schedule and found themselves finish fourth in the West Division.

"It was a positive outcome," head coach Brad McClure said. "It was nice to get the win while also being able to rest some guys for the end of the year."

Griffith still played a full match for the Mountaineers, leading the way with 15 kills.

The ability to win the first two sets and take a big lead in the third allowed McClure to dive into his roster.

"Our last set of the match was mostly first year (athletes)," McClure said. "It was nice being able to watch them go out and succeed."

Oliver Sant (Hamilton, ON) was impressive with seven kills. Andrew Hutchins (Courtice, ON) and Ethan May (Dunnville, ON) also provided a spark for Mohawk.

The Mountaineers finished the season with a 6-3 record, which is good enough to earn themselves a home playoff game. They will host the Fanshawe Falcons at 8p.m. on Mar. 10 inside the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre for the OCAA qualifying round.
