Mohawk Mountaineers women's basketball had one of their best games of the season in a back and forth 73-70 loss to the Conestoga Condors.

After a slow offensive start and trailing at halftime by eight points, the Mountaineers turned up the pressure in the second half but fell just short in the end.

Mohawk received a monster game from Angong Jacob (Calgary, AB), who set a career-high with a team-leading 16 points and 17 rebounds. It was Jacob's second double-double of the season. Veteran Guard Beth Minielly chipped in with 14 points on six-of-11 shooting.

As a team, the Mountaineers had four different players finish with double digit scoring.

Mohawk will remain on the road for their next game as they head to play the Fanshawe Falcons on Jan. 28 at 5 p.m.
