George Brown Women's Soccer (3-3-2) were a force to be reckoned with as they beat the Fleming College Knights (1-4-1) on Wednesday October 5, 2022 in Peterborough with an impressive 8-0 victory on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Huskies jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when rookie Agnes Yung scored an unassisted goal in the 8^th minute of play. From there, the George Brown would continue to pour it on. In the 25^th minute, Brianna Samuels-McLaughlin (4^th Year) scored an unassisted goal, followed by another in the 27^th minute by Makayla Cabral (3^rd Year) and again by Cynthia Pellegrino (5^th Year) a few minutes later in the 31^st giving the Huskies a commanding 4-0 lead entering half-time. The trio have tallied a combined 10 of the team's 15 goals on the season.

In the second half, the Huskies continued the onslaught when Nicole Carvalho (5^th Year) scored her third goal in two games in the 55^th minute of play, with the assist credited to Agnes Yung. In the 67^th minute, Carvalho would pick up an assist of her own when Cabral scored again giving the Huskies a six-goal lead. Usual Huskies starting goalkeeper Victoria Broomer (1^st Year), playing a field position for the first time in nearly a decade, would add two impressive goals of her own in a two minute span with 15 minutes to go in the game to round out the scoring.             

First year midfielder Madison Hadeed was encouraged by the bounce-back win. "I'm so proud of the girls, and us as a whole team because we really came together and got what we needed to get done", commented Hadeed. "We're a great group of individuals who bring different things to the field. But we need one another to get these wins."
