Women's Volleyball Split on Home Opening Weekend

Women's Volleyball Split on Home Opening Weekend

The women's volleyball team went into home opening weekend with a 3-2 record after playing their first five games away from the comforts of the Jack Doyle Athletics and Recreation Centre.  Wolves fans finally had the chance to cheer on their team on Friday and Saturday when they took on the Durham Lords and George Brown Huskies.

Durham @ Algonquin November 11th, 2022

The Wolves took on the undefeated Durham Lords in the home opener.  The two teams met earlier this year, in a match that Durham would win in straight sets.  Algonquin put up a good fight in the rematch, giving the Lords all they could handle, but the Lords ended up taking the rematch 3 sets to 1.

George Brown @ Algonquin November 12th, 2022

Algonquin would look to bounce back on Saturday against the George Brown Huskies who sit just ahead of the Wolves in the OCAA East standings.  Both teams proved to be evenly matched, with George Brown taking the 1st and 4th set and Algonquin taking the 2nd and 3rd.  The Wolves came out swinging in the deciding set, taking it 15-6 and taking the match 3-2.
