On Friday October 28 inside the Casa Loma Athletic Centre, the George Brown women teams hosted the Seneca Sting in front of a capacity crowd. The women's team winning 54-48 to begin their season with a win.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Huskies came out in the first half outscoring the Sting 30-16, led by Minori Fukushi (1st Year) scoring seven points and Kiara Graham (1st Year) also with seven points. In the second half, the Sting would come out looking like a completely different team, outscoring the Huskies 18-4, making it 34-34 entering the final quarter. In front of their home crowd, the Huskies would dig deep, showing grit and determination to come out with the victory outscoring the Sting 20-14 to take the game 54-48.
Graham would finish the night with 16 points, 13 rebounds, five steals and four assists. Fukushi would add 13 points, seven rebounds, six steals and two assists along with Jordyn Dawkins (1st Year) who added 11 points and 10 rebounds to complete the Huskies victory.
UP NEXT: The team will now shift their attention to their upcoming road game against the undefeated Durham College Lords (2-0) on Tuesday November 1 at 6pm.
