The women's basketball team ended up on the losing side of a 2 point decision Friday night against the Durham Lords.
Playing in front of a home crowd for the first time since November 19th, 2022, the Lancers got off to a strong start and for the first 8 minutes. The Lords took the Lead with 41 seconds left in the first and half onto for the remainder of the game.
The Lancers started a late push with less than 5 minutes left in the game and brought the game within 1 with 2:13 left on the clock. The Lords went to the line for 1 and made what would be the final bucket of the game in a 51-49 win in favour of the visiting team.
Lancer guard Jessyka Maliksi led her team with 11 points, 3 rebounds, 6 steals and 3 assists while second year teammate Cianah Miller contributed 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.
The Lancers are back in action Saturday January 20th when they host the Algonquin Thunder at 1 PM.
