Strong fourth not enough; Mountaineers lose to Falcons

By: Severn Zieman

Mohawk Mountaineers outscored the Fanshaw Falcons by 14-points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to overcome an early deficit, losing 67-45.

Angong Jacob (Calgary, AB) had yet another strong performance, scoring 12 points to go along with five rebounds and two steals. Jacob currently leads the Mountaineers in points per game and blocks. Tia Stys also had a strong game off the bench, scoring eight points and grabbing 11 rebounds in 21 minutes played.

The Mountaineers now get a week off before returning to the DBARC on Feb. 4 to host the Lambton Lions at 1 p.m.
