FANSHAWE MEN'S DOUBLES PLACES SECOND IN THE NATION

KING CITY, Ont. - On Saturday afternoon at the 2024 CCAA Badminton Championships hosted by Seneca College, Arpitraj Sinha (Markham, Ont.) and Roshan Rajan Jacob (London, Ont.) captured the silver medal in King City.

Upon completion of Day 1, the Falcons were tied for second after finishing with a 2-1 record in three close matches during round-robin play. On Day 2, Fanshawe managed a brilliant upset against Nait Ooks' Greg Friske and Anirudh Sharma in a thrilling three-set semi-final match (16-21, 21-11, 21-14) to advance to the gold medal round.

During the gold medal match, Sinha and Jacob faced the undefeated SAIT Trojans. The Falcons dropped the first set 21-15, but battled back and took set two by a score of 21-17. In the final set, Fanshawe fought hard but ultimately fell 21-17. The Falcons proudly claimed silver after finishing with an overall tournament record of 4-3.
