ST. CLAIR'S HUGGINS HEADLINES OCAA WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL AWARDS

TORONTO - Kiana Huggins (London) of St. Clair College is the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Women's Volleyball Player of the Year.

The third-year outside hitter was among the OCAA league offensive leaders averaging 4.4 points per set in 18 regular season matches with 247 total points on 199 kills, 38 service aces and 10 blocks. Also named a Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Canadian, Huggins headlines the West Division First-Team All-Stars.

Allyson Terwillegar (Enniskillen) of Loyalist College is the East Division Player of the Year. The fifth-year outside hitter was also among the OCAA statistical leaders averaging 4.3 points per set on 224 kills, 38 service aces and 10 blocks totalling 272 points in 18 matches. Also named a CCAA All-Canadian, Terwillegar headlines the East Division First-Team All-Stars.

Erika Dodd (Uxbridge) of Humber College is the West Division Player of the Year. The third-year left side was also among the top players averaging 4.1 points per set on 154 kills, 33 service aces and four blocks for 191 points in 18 matches, leading the Hawks to an unblemished 18-0 record and West Division championship. Also named a CCAA All-Canadian, Dodd is also a West Division First-Team All-Star.

Rachael O'Dell (Cambridge) of Conestoga College is the OCAA Rookie of the Year. The outside hitter is the West Division Scoring Champion averaging 4.6 points per set in 18 matches with 240 kills, 33 service aces and 29 blocks totalling 302 points. The West Division Rookie of the Year is also a West Division First-Team All-Star and headlines the West Division All-Rookie Team.

St. Clair's Julie Ann Milling is the OCAA Coach of the Year. A former OCAA student-athlete, Milling led the Saints to an impressive 16-2 record in the West Division, losing only 10 sets the entire season. The West Division Coach of the Year is also the nominee for CCAA Coach of the Year.

Loyalist's Charlie Cudmore (Ottawa) is the East Division Rookie of the Year. The middle blocker contributed 2.1 points per set on 86 kills, 22 service aces and 24 blocks totalling 132 points in 18 matches. Cudmore headlines the East Division All-Rookie Team.

Alice Champion of Canadore College is the East Division Coach of the Year. The Panthers went 13-5 in the East Division, rebounding from a tough 1-3 start to win 12 of their final 14 matches, clinching a home playoff berth as a result.

CL Viloria (Richmond Hill) of Centennial College is the East Division Scoring Champion. The third-year middle averaged 4.4 points per set in 17 matches with 213 kills, 47 service aces and 44 blocks totalling an OCAA-high 304 points. Viloria is also an East Division Second-Team All-Star.

In addition to Huggins, Dodd and O'Dell, OCAA West Division First-Team All-Stars include Cassidy Andrews (Guelph) and Kennedy Williscroft (Vancouver, B.C.) of Humber; and Geneva Huisman (Amhertsburg) and Mikayla Stocks (LaSalle) of St. Clair.


Joining Terwillegar as OCAA East Division First-Team All-Stars are Domenica DeFrancesco (Barrie) of Canadore; Jaque Ronquillo (Philippines) of Centennial; Mélany Delisle (Gatineau, Que.) of Collège La Cité; Amanda Larsen (Toronto) of Durham College; and Alyssa Diemert (Egbert) and Georgi Williams (Oshawa) of Loyalist.

The OCAA West Division Second-Team All-Stars include Reese Cholette (Oakville), Keyome Ellis (Scarborough) and Te-Anna Stephenson (Scarborough) of Humber; Rachel Vanderwal (Hamilton) and Alexa Zicari (Burlington) of Mohawk College; Rachel Annett (Melbourne) of Redeemer University; and Emma Clements (Windsor) of St. Clair.

Along with Viloria, OCAA East Division Second-Team All-Stars include Faith Billaney (Boissevain, Man.) of Algonquin College; Brooke Allerston (North Bay) and Carlie Pappano (North Bay) of Canadore; Aislinn Pedersen (Hamilton) of Durham; Claire Ramos (Toronto) of George Brown College; and Alexa Milot (Blackfalds, Alta.) of East Division champion Seneca Polytechnic.

Joining O'Dell on the West Division All-Rookie Team are Caitlyn Labelle (Sturgeon Falls) and Williscroft of Humber; Thea Spasic (Ancaster) of Mohawk; Sam Cormier (St. Catharines) of Niagara College; and Brianne Hobbin (Guelph) of St. Clair.

In addition to Cudmore, members of the East Division All-Rookie Team include Kira Fahrbach (Ingersoll) and Charlotte Randall (Ingersoll) of Canadore; Chelsea Oke (Brooklin) of Durham; Ramos of George Brown; and Milot of Seneca.
