The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team continued their impressive run on Sunday afternoon as they hosted the La Cite Coyotes at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie, ON.
It was a tight battle throughout the contest but it was the Grizzlies who prevailed in the end with a 66-61 victory.
Tyler Vanessen was impressive once again scoring a team-high 19 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double in a row. The Whitby, ON native also hit a deep three pointer at the buzzer to end the first half to give Georgian a four-point lead.
Jonathan Edwards also scored 16 points and David Khayipangi had 11 in the victory.
Georgian now has a record of 3-1 to start the second half of the season and have brought themselves back to a .500 record at 7-7. They immediately jump to fifth place in the crowded OCAA east division standings.
The Grizzlies will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 28 when they host the Fleming Knights at the Georgian Athletic Centre at 3 p.m.
