Playing host to Durham to open the 2015/16 season, the Georgian Grizzlies Men's Basketball team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back.
Leading the offensive charge was the duo of Braden Wilkinson and Connor Laronde. The pair combined for 31 points on the night and hit seven threes to go along with savvy play on both ends. All-Canadian Teq Zwarych threw down a trio of massive dunks in the third quarter, sending a packed house in the Georgian Athletic Centre into a frenzy. Zwarych finished with 17 points and 18 rebounds.
Georgian set the nights tone in the first quarter, going up fourteen in the game's first ten minutes. By half-time the Grizzlies had hit nine triples and extended the lead to twenty-two. That advantage had ballooned to thirty-four by the final buzzer, thanks to a complete team effort.
The Grizzlies held Durham to just 33.8% shooting from the floor and outrebounded the visitors by eight. Georgian had five players reach double-digit scoring.
Next up is a trip to face the Canadore Panthers on Saturday, October 24.
