Grizzlies women's basketball finish first half with big win
Georgian scored a season high in points as they defeated the Huskies 83-58 on Friday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team played their final game of the first half of the season as they hosted the George Brown Huskies at the Georgian Athletic Centre on Friday night.
The women's team had a great effort as they found their touch from long range.
Georgian shot 42.9% from beyond the arc in the second half and had three-pointers from five different players, including Keshia Jacques who went three-of-four shooting and had 10 rebounds in the game.
The Grizzlies carried that momentum throughout for a big 83-58 victory over the Huskies.
It was their highest point total in a game since Feb. 7, 2015.
Hannah Pearsall scored a game-high 28 points while also recording six assists. She has been red-hot as of late averaging 24.8 points-per-game in her last four contests.
Leah Bracken was also solid again with a 19 point effort and Katrina Kerekesch had a season high 16 points.
The Grizzlies have now won two out of their last three games and now sit in sixth place in the east division standings, putting them in the mix for a playoff berth.
Georgian will now have time to reset as they won't begin the second half of their OCAA regular season until Jan. 14 when they travel to face the St. Lawrence-Kingston Vikings.
