Grizzlies rugby continue strong start with dominant win
Georgian improved their season record to 2-0 with an 82-0 win over Conestoga
The Georgian Grizzlies men's rugby team was back in action on Saturday afternoon at the Georgian Sports Field as they hosted the Conestoga Condors.
After a strong defensive stand early to start the game, the Grizzlies took over all momentum in the contest scoring 13 unanswered tries in an 82-0 win.
Henry Do had four tries in the game to lead Georgian in scoring while Lucas Cunningham had three of his own, all coming in the first half.
Josh Michalik (2), Nick Brace, Robin Calamatta, Drew Currie, Liam Fowler, Jordan Henstra had the other tries for the Grizzlies. Michael O'Grady recorded 12 points in the game by kicking six converts.
Georgian improve their record to 2-0 on the season and have outscored their opponents 126-8 in those games, which is currently the highest point differential in the entire OCAA.
The Grizzlies and Condors will face each other in the rematch of the home-and-home series next Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Bill Struck Field in Cambridge, ON.
