GRIZZLIES MEN’S BASKETBALL OPEN SECOND HALF WITH IMPRESSIVE WIN
The Grizzlies opened the second half of the season with a solid 97-74 victory over the Fleming Knights on Jan. 10.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team opened the second half of their OCAA regular season on Friday night when they hosted the Fleming Knights at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
It was a complete effort for the Grizzlies as they were able to pull away for an impressive 97-74 victory over the Knights.
Tyler Vanessen (Whitby) continued his fantastic season with season-highs in both points with 29 and in rebounds with 18. It was the fifth-year veteran's eighth double-double in 11 games this season. Vanessen became just the second men's basketball player in school history with 1,000 career OCAA points.
Teammate Samuel Odzenma (Mississauga) was also impressive on both ends of the court as he scored a season-high 18 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.
Jacob Edwards (Barrie) made the most of his first start of the season for the Grizzlies scoring a season-high 21 points.
The Grizzlies improved their season record to 7-4 on the season and they sit in fourth place in the OCAA east division standings.
Georgian continue their four-game home stand next Friday night, January 17th when they host the Loyalist Lancers (8-2)
