Three second half tries give men's rugby win against Seneca

OAKVILLE, Ont. -- In a tightly played contest in which both teams were able to cross the try line three times, the Sheridan Bruins men's rugby team (1-1 OCAA) ultimately made more of the opportunities by converting all three tries, while Seneca was unable to convert any, in a 21-15 Sheridan triumph.

Seneca led 5-0 at the interval, but the Bruins got on the scoresheet early in the second half on a try from Tristian Hylton.

Owen Schimpl scored the next two -- the first on a long dash from within the Sheridan half and the second after an in-goal recovery following a grubber kick -- and added all three converts.

Seneca received tries from Ali Homayed, Jake Moreau and Johnny Opuku-Mensah.

The Double-Blue will play the second of their two-game home stand when they host Mohawk on October 1 (11am) during Homecoming.
