What Happened: The Grizzlies Men's Basketball team hit the road on the weekend to visit Loyalist and St. Lawrence in their final road trip of the regular season. Starting off at Loyalist, a strong offence by Georgian gave the Grizzlies a seven point lead by the end of the first quarter 22-15. Loyalist pushed back in the second before the break, something that Georgian wasn't expecting as they nearly dropped the second quarter 29-28. After the break, Georgian continued to rally and pushed ahead to close out the third 22-17, before Loyalist kicked things into gear in the fourth quarter. A rejuvinated Lancers team pushed the Grizzlies back in the final frame, but the 38-34 finish by Loyalist wasn't enough to break Georgian's resolve as the match finished 107-98.
The following afternoon, Georgian visited St. Lawrence and used momentum from the previous evening's victory to push through a short rest window. Georgian found good team synergy from the start of the match, putting up a strong offensive effort against St. Lawrence in the first half, finishing 24-14 and 20-14 in the first and second quarters. Both teams started to slow down after the break, with only 10 points a piece being scored in the third quarter. In the fourth, it was St Lawurence that pushed again, taking it 15-11 but not enough to win. Georgian takes the match 65-53.
Against Loyalist, Simeon Smith had a team leading 24 points, going 10-16 FGM-A, shooting 33% on threes, and 3-7 on fouls. Andy Sinclair and Jaylen Moore-Tucker sharing a team-leading 27 minutes played, with Sinclair putting up 12 points, and Moore-Tucker contirbuting 9.
At St. Lawrence, it was Jaylen Moore-Tucker with a team leading 18 points, while Andy Sinclair led in minutes for another night at 32 minutes played with 11 points.
