Men's basketball claim pair of wins in the Sault

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - Though they have yet to find the same groove that carried them to an 8-1 first half, the Sheridan Bruins men's basketball team (20-4, 11-1 OCAA) picked up a pair of wins on their longest road trip of the season, winning twice against Sault.

"Sault obviously has some major challenges ahead of them, but they play very hard and, at times, exposed some of our weaknesses," head coach Jim Flack said. "We're still tinkering a bit with our rotation, because the stretch run will be very tough and we'll need more performances from more guys."

The Bruins won the first game of the weekend 110-71 and followed that up with a 134-76 triumph.

The victory Sunday gave the Double Blue 20 on the season, marking the 24th time in 26 years as a head coach that Jim Flack has notched at least 20 wins in a season.

Sheridan will now shift focus to their rivals from Humber, re-engaging in The Game for the 119th time on Jan. 25 (8pm).

Blue notes: Sheridan has now hit the century mark in 13 of their 24 games this season.
