Women's basketball fall to Redeemer

ANCASTER, Ont. -- The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team (3-18, 2-9 OCAA) fell behind early in their first road contest of the second half and could never recover in a 74-52 loss to Redeemer.

"We really struggled to find our rhythm, especially offensively, in that first quarter and we could just never claw our way back after," head coach Willie Delas said.

Redeemer jumped all over the Double-Blue in the first quarter, limiting the Lady Bruins to 25 per cent shooting from the floor on their way to a 21-10 lead.

They would push their advantage to 20 by the break (44-24) and never allowed Sheridan to chip away at the margin.

Samantha Lovat (14) and Racquel Dyer (12) were both in double figures for the Double-Blue.

The club now has a 10-day stretch to prepare for a trip to Mohawk on January 25.
