BRAMPTON, Ont. -- Playing their fourth contest in a 12 day span, the Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team (0-8, 0-4 OCAA) suffered an 83-52 loss to Mohawk.

"We started off really well, competing really well, both defensively and offensively, but in the second quarter, we lost our composure," head coach Willie Delas said. "We lost our discipline, we lost sight of what we were supposed to do at both ends of the floor and that's why there was such a big spread."

The Double-Blue held a slim lead seven minutes into the opening frame, but would trail by eight after the opening 10 minutes (23-15) after Mohawk closed the quarter on a 13-0 run.

They would push their advantage to 21 (47-26) by halftime and showed no let up in the second half.

Theresa Brown led the Lady Bruins with 13 points on the night.

After such a condensed schedule, the team now has a bit of a breather to prepare for a November 12 trip to Humber and Delas says a big focus of their practices will be on getting stops.

"We've got to really work on our commitment to want to play defence," he said. "It starts at the defensive end and we've got to do a better job of executing some of the fundamental defensive principles."
