WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL OPEN 2020 WITH SWEEP OF COLTS
Sophia Clement and the Grizzlies were impressive in a 3-0 sweep over the Colts on Tuesday night in Scarborough.
The Georgian Grizzlies women's volleyball team opened up their second half of the season with their first game of 2020 on Tuesday night when they took on the Centennial Colts in Scarborough.
Georgian were able to battle through two tight sets as part of a 3-0 sweep over the Colts. Set scores were 25-20, 25-12 and 25-23.
The Grizzlies used a balanced attack against their opponents with Carina Brooks (Caledon) and Isabella Antonelli (Windsor) leading the team with seven points each.
Georgian continues to have a fine season now holding a 7-3 record, good for fourth place in the OCAA east division standings.
The Grizzlies will continue their busy season schedule with a trip to face the Canadore Panthers this Saturday in North Bay.
Georgian's next home volleyball game will take place next Wednesday, Jan. 22 when they host the Seneca Sting at the Georgian Athletic Centre. The women's game gets underway at 6 p.m. with the men's following at approximately 8 p.m.
