Men's Volleyball Finishes Double Header Weekend in First

What Happened: A double header weekend proved a challenge for Georgian as Fleming started off Friday evenings match seemingly status quo for most of what Georgian has encountered this season. The Grizzlies able to tally up points and start to go on a few runs gave them the first set victory 25-18. Fleming took that personally and proceeded to crank their team to eleven and push the Grizzlies through the following three sets. Just as the second set looked to be in the bag, Fleming quickly tallied a few points together to take the set 25-23. Set three required some extra time and resulted in another Fleming win, 28-26. At risk of the match ending with a Fleming victory, Georgian attempted to put up the same synergy that they had in the first set, but unfortunatly fell short and ended the set with the third straight loss of the match 25-23 with Fleming taking the match 3-1.

A frustrated Grizzlies team entered Saturday afternoon's match with a vengeance and vendetta against Durham. Not wanting a repeat of Friday's match, they quickly went on the offensive and put Durham in a fluster as Georgian tallied up point after point, taking the match in three sets, 25-12, 25-10, and 25-15. With this victory, Georgian secured their spot in first place in the East Division.

Against Fleming, CJ Okeke put up 22 kills, 5 digs and 1 ace, Gage McCurdy contributed 17 kills, 7 digs, and 2 aces. Shaun McLaughlin also delivered 6 kills and 1 ace, with 4 digs. Against Durham, Gage McCurdy put up another 12 kills and 4 digs, with CJ Okeke adding 10 kills and 4 digs to his wekeend total.

What's Next: Men's Volleyball start their playoff run on Saturday, February 18th at 1PM at the Georgian College Athletic and Fitness Centre against the Sheridan Bruins.
