Women's rugby climbing back towards playoff position

KITCHENER, Ont. -- After the second last match day of the women's rugby regular season, the Sheridan Bruins women's rugby team (2-10 OCAA) find themselves within striking distance of the final spot in the OCAA Championship.

Although they went 1-3 on the day -- with losses to Humber (26-0), Conestoga (31-5) and Seneca (34-5) -- a 20-0 win over Mohawk has them just one game behind the Mountaineers for the final spot in the Championship Match Day.

On the day, Jeatrice De Leon scored two tries, while Candice Low Kum, Leanne Spiegler, Kyleigh Jampen and Cara Dinall each added one.

The final match day will be hosted by Mohawk on October 22 with the Double-Blue facing Conestoga at 10am, Mohawk at 12pm, Humber at 1pm and Seneca at 2pm.

Sheridan will host the top four teams in the OCAA Championship on November 5.
