Women's Volleyball Take Two on the Weekend

The St. Clair College women's volleyball team wrapped up their OCAA home schedule for the fall semester with two convincing wins on the weekend.

On Saturday, the Saints hosted College Boreal (Sudbury) and came away with a 3-0 win. Set scores for St. Clair were 25-13, 25-15, and 25-14.

Rookie middle Faith Kailer (Tecumseh; St. Anne's) led the way for the Saints with 6 kills, 2 stuff blocks, 3 service aces and 4 digs. Outsider hitter Kyra Tzimas (LaSalle; Sandwich) had a solid match with 7 kills and 65 digs. Boreal's record is now 1-10 on the year. Rookie setter Emma Cabral (Milton; Craig Kielburger) had a great match with 28 assists, 4 kills, 1 service ace and 3 digs.

On Sunday afternoon, St. Clair took on the Cambrian Golden Shield (Sudbury) and won handily 3-0. Set scores for the Saints were 25-17, 25-16, and 25-10

Third year outsider hitter Kiana Huggins (London; Saunders) led the way offensively with 14 kills and 6 digs. Outside Hitter Ashley Maleyko (LaSalle; Villanova) also had a solid game with 10 kills, 1 stuff block, 1 service aces and 9 digs.  Cambrian's record dropped to 4-7 with the loss. 

The Saints are now 8-1 on the season with the two wins and are ranked 2nd in Ontario and 8th in Canada.

St. Clair will conclude their OCAA fall semester schedule at Sheridan on Saturday at 4 pm and at Humber on Sunday at 2 pm
