LANCERS FALL BY 1 TO WOLVES

LANCERS FALL BY 1 TO WOLVES

A short -staffed Lancer squad turned in one of their best defensive performances of the season in a 62-61 loss to the Algonquin Thunder.

First year guard Ahmed Ismail excelled at both ends of the court for the now 6-5 squad.  With a level of physicality that hasn't been seen yet this season, Ismail's ability to drive to the basket and create stoppages on defence were major factors in the game.

The Lancers created multiple offensive opportunities with stellar defence that forced turnovers and shot clock violations by the Wolves.

Veteran Lancer Bobby Buck showed off impressive speed and court awareness with 9 points, 11 rebounds and 1 steal while 6'3 big man Shakur Seymour turned in a noteworthy performance with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 1 steal. Ismail led the team in scoring with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and a steal.

With 13 seconds left on the clock and the game tied at 61, the Wolves were fouled off an inbounding play and went to the line for two, making 1. The Lancers inbounded the ball with 3.3 seconds and got a shot up that spun in before coming back out and ending the game in a one-point decision in favor of the Wolves.
