VAUGHAN – Humber men's soccer cruised past the Redeemer Royals (1-3-0, 7th West) once again, at the Ontario Soccer Centre, 4-1. Exosse Kadiebue led the Hawks offensively, recording his first brace of the season.

Match Recap

After a slow start on the weekend, the Hawks (2-0-2, 3rd West) seemed to have changed their strategy and started the match pressuring the Royals right at their defensive zone. Redeemer struggled to keep the possession as the Hawks often had most players battling for the ball in the offensive area.

After 15 minutes of constant pressure from Humber, the Royals could not keep up with their compact defence. A clumsy mistake between two Redeemer players in the midfield cleared the way for Noah Macintyre to score his first goal in the 2023 season and put the Hawks on the board with an early tally.

In a little more than ten minutes, Damion Kaye had the perfect chance to add another number to the score. The Mississauga native showed off his explosive power and speed, overcame two Royal players on the left side and, looking for the top-right corner, unloaded a rocket, but the shot just sailed right.

Right before the break, the Hawks' midfield chemistry was on point to break the Redeemer's defence. After great moves and a one-two play, Christian Keshishian received a wonderful pass and brilliantly lobbed the goalkeeper, scoring the second goal of the match and his second of the season.

Humber dominated the first half with quick passes and great ball possession. The Hawks set the match dynamic and stunned the Royals in the first half.

The Redeemer Royals came in hot after the break, looking to turn the tables and surprise the Hawks. This offence gave Humber more space to build up offensive plays and extend the advantage.

After Damion Kaye battled in the midfield, Christian Keshishian came up with an amazing long pass, finding Exosse Kadiebue's left foot, who drove the ball into the net for the second game in a row.

The third goal seemed to have dazed the Royals; the Hawks were back in control, dominating the ball possession and building up offensive plays repeatedly.

At 65 minutes, Damion Kaye received a great pass inside the 18-yard box and found the back of the net, but the whistle was blown after the line referee called an offside. Humber's striker was upset after the call, as Kaye was clearly positioned a couple of yards onside.

Right before the final whistle, the Royals scored their lone tally after a corner kick. But the Hawks did not allow Redeemer to get excited, as Kadiebue scored his second goal of the match and wrapped up the board.

After getting a painful late draw against Mohawk on the weekend, Humber men's soccer rolled the Redeemer Royals 4-1.
