LANCERS FALL TO HUSKIES

It was a highly competitive day for the Lancers Women's and Men's basketball teams as they faced off against the George Brown Huskies in a pair of close games.

The women were up first, taking an early lead only to be trailing 16-12 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was also tightly contested with the Lancers still down 33-28 at the half. The home team was able to come back in the third Quarter when Daija Thomson, who had 26 points throughout the day, tied up the game.The Huskies managed to get a one point lead at the end of the quarter bringing it to 50-49 in George Browns favour. In the fourth quarter the Lancers ended up in a 5 on 3 situation as 3 of the Lancers fouled out. Cianah Miller who was another standout with 24 points, helped the team inch closer to tying it up with a pair of late threes. However the numbers were too much and George Brown won the game 68-61.

Now sitting 1-1 on the season, the Lancers look to get back in the win column Wednesday February 16th at home against the St. Lawrence Surge.
