Women’s Basketball Thrash Redeemer

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Basketball team now sport a 7-2 record after an 87-45 thrashing of Redeemer University College (Ancaster) at the SportsPlex Friday night.  The Saints still hold possession of third place in the OCAA's West Division with one game remaining before the holiday break.  

St. Clair had a 20-14 after the opening frame and quickly moved that lead to 46-23 by halftime.  Minutes were spread out at that point allowing all 11 Saints players a chance to record a basket in the contest.  St. Clair ballooned their lead to as much as 44 points in the fourth quarter while holding Redeemer to just 25% shooting and only allowed them to make one shot from beyond the 3-point arc.  The Saints made 13 triples in the game after scoring 35 points off 28 Redeemer turnovers.  

2nd year player Noor Bazzi (Windsor, ON/Vincent Massey) continued her fine play for St. Clair scoring 18 points all coming by way of the long ball while adding 12 rebounds for the double-double to go with 5 assists.  Anna Ulicny (Tecumseh, ON/St. Anne) worked her way back into form scoring 14 points and dished out 5 assists of her own.  
Jana Kucera (Chatham, ON) also reached double figures with 13 points while helping her teammates with 6 assists and 4 steals.  Keirsten Tomkins (Sarnia, ON) kept up her work on the glass with 9 rebounds to go with 8 points while Tanay Freckleton (Windsor, ON/WF Herman) also scored 8 points and grabbed 7 boards for the Saints.  

Jessica Angelini (Hamilton, ON) had a game high 19 points for Redeemer in the loss.  

The St. Clair Women's Basketball team host Conestoga College (Kitchener) Saturday at 1:00 in their final game before the break.
